ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Tom Docherty has been writing about RAF history since 1978 and had his first book, TRAINING FOR TRIUMPH, published in 2000. This was followed by HUNT LIKE A TIGER in 2003. A change of publisher followed for OURS TO HOLD in 2004 (republished in 2008). These books were followed by two more published in early 2007 by Pen & Sword - DINGHY DROP and No 7 BOMBER SQUADRON RAF IN WORLD WAR II.

Tom's 6th book SWIFT TO BATTLE, a history of No 72 Squadron's fighter years in 3 volumes is being prepared for publication by Pen & Sword. Vol.1 due out in Apr 2009. He has served for many years with the RAF and spent time on several of the squadrons he has written about. He is married with four children and lives on the Moray coast.
